E Soo Yong Tou Foo 二嫂酿豆腐 has been in business for more than a year in Klang Valley.
There are four e Soo Yong Tou Foo outlets – two in Kepong, one in Bandar Puchong Jaya and the new outlet in Bukit Rimau, Shah Alam.
e Soo Yong Tou Foo, Bukit Rimau located at the corner shoplots in a strategic location near Carrefour Hypermarket and this restaurant can be found easily.
The restaurant wasn’t very full when we arrived at 7pm. But it was getting crowded after our foods are served. Just a couple of months since opening, this restaurant already attracted so many people. Because the restaurant is situated in the new shop houses area, there are not many shop occupied yet. However, it is easy to find the restaurant as this place always crowded and the crowd of customers can catch your attention if you are passing by the place. If you happen to pass by evening then it is almost a cinch that your curiosity will get the better of you. The restaurant is non air conditioned. But don’t worry, there are fans all around the restaurant (inside and outside).
There are many workers working at accelerated pace to ensure quick and efficient service. No doubt, service was good as it didn’t take long for the food to be served.
The restaurant has a double-sided menu that shows Yong Tau Foo on one page and savoury dishes on the opposite side.
The Yong Tau Foo items comprise fried brinjal, bittergourd, fried fu chuk, fried dumpling, chilli tau fu, fishballs, lady’s finger and fried tau fu pok.
Savoury dishes consist of sambal fish, meat with yam, prawns, chicken and a variety of vegetables.
The menu selections are all printed in Chinese. So you may have to ask for details but the pictures help a little in indicating what you may be getting from the kitchen.
I must say that the Yong Tou Foo pieces were huge.
The Yong Tau Foo items that we ordered comprised of fried brinjal, fried fu chuk, fried dumpling, lady’s finger, tofu with fishball and fried tau fu pok. The fried fu chuk were quite oily. The soup was very tasty but slightly salty. I like how they served the soup. It is very different from other Yong Tau Foo I had. This one they served with vegetable in the soup.
Remember must eat with the chilli sauce, it makes the Yong Tau Foo even more yummy!
Drinks that we ordered.
It was a very satisfying dinner and this place is worth coming again. Maybe this time, I will try their other dishes which include braised pig trotters, fish-head curry and many others.
